Collaboration with photographer Riddhi Parekh
After being a part of the Roadtrip Project in Odisha, a road trip that takes 15 creators around the state to experience all that there is and to collaborate as creators. The pictures below, taken of Gotipua dancers at the Konark Dance School were taken by photographer Riddhi Parekh, served as a wonderful canvas for me to explore.
The dance is executed by a group of boys who perform acrobatic figures inspired by the life of Radha and Krishna. The boys begin to learn the dance at an early age until adolescence, when their androgynous appearance changes. In the Odia language Gotipua, means "single boy".
